In 1976, Coach O’Steen graduated from Central High School and enrolled in Chattahoochee Valley Community College in 1977. He began his career in law enforcement in 1977 as a dispatcher with the Phenix City Police Department. Coach O’Steen is married to Jane Wood O’Steen, and they have one daughter, Candice O’Steen Jenks Davis, and one grandson, Benton Ryland Jenks. Steve and his family are members of Crawford Road Baptist Church, and it would be “hard” to find a coach with a bigger heart for softball than Coach O’Steen. His humble nature belies his competitive spirit and passion for softball and the many student-athletes he has coached and mentored for most of his career, which has spanned over 40 years. He and Ms. Jane have not only welcomed student-athletes to Chattahoochee Valley Community College, but they have also welcomed them into their hearts and home. Whether it’s preparing a delicious meal or offering moral support, the O’Steens have treated each student as though one of their own. As a servant leader, Coach O’Steen has not only coached too many student-athletes to count in the game of softball, but he has also helped them navigate the game of life.

The site worked great for the tournaments I used it for. I had many coaches respond to my contacting them. The site helped me develop confidence in getting through the recruiting process.
