Jen Consaul

Jen Consaul was named the full-time head coach on June 2, 2023, after serving as the interim head coach during the 2022 season.

She originally joined the Army West Point softball staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2019.

In her first season leading the Black Knights in 2023, the team went 22-37 with a 10-8 record in the Patriot League. Army used a five-game win streak from March 24-29 and then a crucial three-game sweep of Colgate in the final series of the weekend to solidify the third overall seed in the Patriot League Tournament. Army beat #4 Bucknell and upset #2 Lehigh to advance to the Patriot League Championship vs. Boston. The wins were marked as the first postseason championship wins since 2017 and the first-time appearing in the championship game since 2016.

Consaul's team was headlined by INF Angelina Bebek, a first-team All-Patriot League selection, who led the team with a .306 batting average, 52 hits, and nine doubles. Freshman INF Taylor Brown, OF Kayla Edwards and OF Brook Mitchell earned spots on the second team.

In her former role as an assistant, Consaul works primarily with the team's pitching staff. Under her guidance, Jolie Duong collected Second Team All-Patriot League honors at the end of the 2021 campaign. Duong led the team with a 9-2 record and struck out 50 batters en route to posting a 2.69 ERA. Consaul's staff finished the 2021 slate with a 3.96 ERA and held opponents to .249 in the box, the lowest opposing team batting average since the 2016 season (.241).

Consaul arrived at West Point after spending three seasons at UNC Charlotte, where she oversaw all aspects of the pitching staff. There she mentored Haley Wiseman, who earned All-Conference USA Second team nods in 2017 and 2018. In her first season with the program, the team posted 30 wins.

Prior to her appointment at UNC Charlotte, Consaul served as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Canisius, for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Serving as the pitching coach, she mentored 2015 MAAC Rookie of the Year Erika Mackie, who went 14-7 and threw 15 complete games. Additionally, with her guidance the Golden Griffins were crowned the 2015 regular season MAAC champions.

In her collegiate playing career with Canisius, Consaul made 86 starts as a part of 126 total appearances in the circle from 2011-14. Her 126 career appearances along with her 637.2 career innings pitched rank first all-time in school history. An All-MAAC Second Team selection her senior year, Consaul had a career record of 48-44 with a 2.68 earned run average and registered 364 strikeouts.

Consaul currently resides in Highland Falls.
